We played our big singles tournament up to the finals and had a lot of good matches.<br />It was hot today but the boys hung in there and did well.<br /><br />We ended the day of tennis with a game of "the wave" and a gigantic tennis ball pyramid constructed by the Red Group led by Coach Will Campbell.<br /><br />After the tournament, we had dinner (Arby's delivered) and headed to Beechwood Cinemas to watch a movie. Most guys chose Wall-e while some watched The Hulk or Get Smart.<br /><br />Tomorrow we look forward to the finals of the singles and doubles tournament and wrapping up a great week of tennis. We had a great day and the weather was so nice - not too hot even for the first day of July.<br /><br />Today we worked on a lot of match play situations and tried to put into action all of the patterns we have discussed throughout camp. We had some fun competition between Team Georgia and Team Bulldog. What a great battle! In the end Team Georgia was able to pull it out but there was great effort on the part of both teams.<br /><br />Tonight we are holding our doubles tournament. After college, I traveled to New York, then Australia to coach tennis and travel to other parts of the world. When I returned to Athens, I started grad school and shortly after was hired as the Assistant Coach of UGA Men's Tennis. In 2007, I completed my Master in Education with a focus on Organizational Development and Leadership. During the three years I've coached at Georgia, our team has reached the NCAA finals each year, winning in 2007 and 2008.
